The driver of the first vehicle was following too closely given the conditions. As a result, the front of his vehicle collided with the rear of the second vehicle. After the impact, the first vehicle began to slide and veered off the road to the right, going down an embankment. The vehicle then re-entered the roadway onto West Florissant Road where it struck the front left side of a third vehicle. This third vehicle was forced off the right side of the roadway and hit a culvert. The scene was attended by Cpl. Z. Kral (Badge Number 1379).
