The first vehicle was heading west on I-70 near milepost 298, while the second vehicle was traveling east on the same interstate near the same milepost. The first vehicle experienced a blowout of its front driver-side tire, causing it to veer into the eastbound lane. As a result, it collided head-on with the second vehicle.
