Mathia Kay Nieves, a 33-year-old resident of Emmetsburg, Iowa, sustained injuries in a collision that occurred on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 2:57 PM in Palo Alto County, Iowa. The incident took place at the intersection of 370th St and 480th Ave.
According to the police report:
Vehicle #1 (V1) was heading southbound on 480th Ave. The driver of V1 failed to stop and yield at the intersection of 480th Ave and 370th St. At the same time, Vehicle #2 (V2) was traveling westbound on 370th St. V1 collided with V2, hitting the passenger side doors. The driver of V1 (Nieves) sustained injuries. Both the driver and a passenger in V2 were injured, while a second passenger in V2 tragically lost their life. The reporting officer was Trooper Faas (#076) from Post 6.
Injuries
Mathia Kay Nieves sustained injuries. She was transported to Palo Alto Hospital by an unidentified service.
