Vehicle 1 was heading southbound while Vehicle 2 was going northbound on HWY 48. For reasons yet to be determined, Vehicle 1 crossed the center line and collided head-on with Vehicle 2. After the collision, Vehicle 1 ended up facing southeast on the east shoulder, while Vehicle 2 came to rest facing east on the west shoulder. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
