The incident took place at US169 (North) near Woodbine Road, approximately one mile north of St. Joseph.
Olivares was one of the drivers involved in the collision. The police provided the following description of the incident:
The crash happened as the first vehicle was heading northbound on US169, while the second vehicle was traveling northbound on Woodbine Road, intending to turn southbound onto US169. The first vehicle attempted to dodge the second vehicle but ended up colliding head-on. Both vehicles came to a halt on US169. The incident was attended by TPR. S.P. Gomez (136), Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department, Buchanan County Ambulance , and St. Joseph Fire Department .
Injuries
Yalena A. Olivares sustained serious injuries. She was transported to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph by the Buchanan County Ambulance .
Vehicle Damage
