Vehicle #1 was traveling east in the westbound lanes of K96. Meanwhile, Vehicles #2 and #3 were heading west on K96 at milepost 299.2. As a result, Vehicle #2 caught fire and eventually came to a halt on the north shoulder of K96, remaining upright. Vehicle #1 stopped in the number 1 lane of westbound K96. The impact of Vehicle #2 into Vehicle #3 resulted in the trailer being detached from the hitch. Vehicle #3 skidded across the median and ended up on eastbound K96, facing east. The detached trailer landed on its side in the north ditch.
Injuries
