As a result, Vehicle #2 caught fire and eventually came to a halt on the north shoulder of K96, remaining upright. Vehicle #1 stopped in the number 1 lane of westbound K96. The impact of Vehicle #2 into Vehicle #3 resulted in the trailer being detached from the hitch. Vehicle #3 skidded across the median and ended up on eastbound K96, facing east. The detached trailer landed on its side in the north ditch.

Injuries
