Boyle was crossing W Penn St in front of Tin Roost when he was struck by the first vehicle. Boyle sustained life-threatening injuries. The driver of the first vehicle fled the scene heading east but was later located. Charges are pending and the investigation of the crash is ongoing under the supervision of Iowa State Patrol Officer Schamberger (Badge #448) from Post 11.
