Mohammed Wajid, a 28-year-old resident of Chicago, Illinois, was injured on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 12:42 PM in Plymouth County, Iowa. The collision occurred at the intersection of C12 & K18.
The police report detailed the incident as follows:
Vehicle #1, driven by Wajid, was traveling north on K18 and failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection of K18 N & C12. Vehicle #2, which was hauling grain, was heading east on C12. Vehicle #1 collided with the rear of the grain trailer, causing it to split in half. The frame of Vehicle #1 came to rest in the north ditch, and the cab in the south ditch. Vehicle #2 ended up east of the intersection. The driver of Vehicle #1, Wajid, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The surrounding fields caught on fire due to the collision but were extinguished by the responding fire department.
Injuries
Mohammed Wajid tragically succumbed to his injuries. He was transported to Floyd Valley Hospital by an unidentified service.
Vehicle Damage
Wajid was driving a 2017 Frht Tk, designated as vehicle #1. The vehicle was subsequently towed from the scene by Stockton Towing , as reported by the police.
